Change File Associations dialog box

Use this dialog box to choose the applications to use when .DWG, .DWF, .DGN, .DXF, .EML, .PDF, or .PLT files are opened from Project Center.

Use Newforma File Associations Setting

This option is supported when the project is connected to ProjectWise or Sharepoint.

Choose this option to open files using the Project Center file associations selected in this dialog box.

Use Connected EDMS Configuration

This option is supported when the project is connected to ProjectWise or Sharepoint.

Choose this option to open files using the file associations set in ProjectWise or Sharepoint.

 

Open All Files in Their Native Application

Choose this option to open each of the listed file types using their native applications.

Open Files Using the Following Programs

Choose this option to select which programs to use to open each file type.

Files with

This column contains the file extensions (types) that you can create file associations for.

Open with

Each field in this column contains the name of the application that runs when you open the associated file type from Project Center. You can select the application that runs from the drop-down list, or click the button to open the Choose a Program dialog box to search for an application.

The associations listed here are valid only in Project Center; they do not apply to Windows Explorer associations.

Open .rvt Files in Viewer Mode by Default

Select this option to change the default behavior when a user opens a Revit file in the Project Files activity center. Instead of consuming a full Revit license, the file opens using Revit Model Viewer instead. The task in the Project Files activity center is changed to Open with Auto Desk Revit Viewer Mode.

 

To access this dialog box

Click the button from the Toolbar, then select  File Associations from the drop-down list.
