Newforma Snapshot Tool

Use the Newforma Snapshot Tool to capture a section of the screen and open it in the Newforma Viewer.

Configure the screen the way you want it, then right-click on the icon located in the Windows Taskbar at the bottom right corner of the screen and select Snapshot. Click and drag the box to cover the area of the screen you want to capture. Once you have the box positioned over the area you want to capture, release the mouse button. The snapshot opens in the Newforma Viewer. You can then mark up the snapshot. You can also use the Newforma Snapshot tool to mark up BIM models and other file types.

Options

• Press the Alt key while taking a snapshot to copy the screen capture to the Windows clipboard instead of opening it in the Newforma Viewer. You can then paste it to another application.

• To capture drop-down menus, press Ctrl-Shift-S, which launches the Newforma Snapshot Tool and preserves the menus.

To cancel a screen capture

There are three ways to cancel a screen capture while it is in process:

• Click the X located at the top next to the instructional text;

• Right-click to select Abort Capture;

• Press Escape.

To access the Newforma Snapshot tool

Right-click the icon located in the Windows Taskbar at the bottom right corner of the screen and select Snapshot.
