Mark Up Drawings
This topic gives a general overview of the markup process. For more detailed information on each step below, see Use the Newforma Viewer.
To mark up drawings
1. |
Select a drawing file in Project Center and open it in the Newforma Viewer to review and mark it up. 1 You can set associations in Project Center to open files in the Newforma Viewer. If the drawing will not open in Newforma Viewer, you can still mark it up – See Mark Up BIM Models and Other File Types for more details. |
2. |
Open the Markup Tools panel by clicking either Markup Drawing in the Viewer Tasks panel, the button in the toolbar, or by right-clicking in the drawing area and selecting Create Markup. |
3. |
Zoom into an area of the drawing that you want to mark up. Since previews of each markup will be available in Project Center, be sure to set up a suitable view before you save each markup. |
4. |
Use the tools available in the Markup Tools panel to annotate each view. If the text and line weight scale is too big or small for the current view, you can reset the annotation scale for existing and future markup items in the view. |
5. |
After creating a markup session, you can send it as a .PDF, email it as an image, or copy it to the Windows clipboard to paste into another application. If you are planning on saving the markup session as part of a markup review workflow, or just keeping a record of it in the project, you should save each marked up view before zooming or panning to the next area of the drawing. |
6. |
When you complete your markup session, you should save it as a project item by clicking the icon in the toolbar. It will then be added to the Project Markup Sessions activity center. Any project team member that selects the source drawing in Project Center or views it in the Newforma Viewer will be able to access your markup session. |
